As Manafwa District prepares for the forthcoming Women Council Elections, the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) has continued to rally communities around the values of servant leadership, effective lobbying, and inclusive development.
Yesterday, ONC Regional Coordinator Bugisu, Namasaba Jalia met women leaders and residents in Manafwa, where she delivered a powerful message on the importance of electing leaders who are knowledgeable, exposed, and capable of lobbying for opportunities that improve the lives of ordinary citizens. She emphasized that communities need leaders who can build bridges with government institutions and development partners to attract services and resources to the grassroots.
During the engagement, attention was drawn to the dedication of Hon. Musibika Annet, whose commitment to serving the people has remained strong despite not winning a parliamentary seat in the previous elections. It was noted that rather than retreating from public service, she has continued to lobby for support for widows and single mothers, engage leaders on community concerns, and create opportunities for young people through empowerment and job creation initiatives.
Speaking at the meeting, participants praised Hon.Musibika Annet for consistently reaching out to ONC Manager and Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, on issues affecting vulnerable groups. Her efforts were highlighted as an example of leadership driven by compassion and a desire to improve the welfare of the people.
The gathering also paid tribute to the Office of the National Chairman under Hajjat Namyalo’s leadership for standing firmly with the needy across the country. Through various empowerment programs and outreach initiatives, ONC has become a beacon of hope for widows, single mothers, youth, and other vulnerable Ugandans seeking opportunities to improve their lives.
Speaking on behalf of ONC, Namasaba Jalia reaffirmed the office’s commitment to working with credible and development-oriented leaders, particularly women leaders in Manafwa, to strengthen service delivery and community empowerment.
“We shall continue to work with good leadership that prioritizes the people. Manafwa deserves leaders who can lobby, mobilize and deliver opportunities to the grassroots. ONC remains committed to supporting leaders who put the interests of the community first,” Jalia said.
She also appealed to Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo to continue extending her support to single mothers, widows, and other vulnerable groups, noting that her commitment to uplifting the less privileged has transformed many lives and restored hope to countless families.
The meeting concluded with a call for unity, responsible leadership, and active participation in the Women Council Elections.
