What began as a football tournament at Mbale Cricket Grounds has become a powerful movement of hope, healing, and community transformation, thanks to the leadership and generosity of Hajji Abdallah Diffe, the NRM Chairman for Sironko Town Council.
Hajji Diffe officially launched the Uganda National Corporate Tournament (UNCT) Eastern Edition, a two-day event that brings together corporate organizations, community leaders, families, and sports enthusiasts for a cause far greater than competition.
Held under the inspiring theme “Kick for Hope and Mobility, Kick for Today, Kick for Healing,” the tournament is aimed at raising funds to purchase a physiotherapy machine that will help patients regain mobility, recover from injuries, and live free from pain.
Speaking during the launch, Hajji Diffe stressed that the tournament is not merely about football but about people coming together to change lives.
“This is not just a football event. It is a family coming together for a health cause. Every contribution made today brings hope to someone who needs treatment, healing to someone living with pain, and a chance for another person to walk again.”
As one of the major sponsors of the tournament, Hajji Diffe provided significant financial support towards the successful organization of the event. In a remarkable show of commitment, he also pledged an additional UGX 2 million towards the procurement of the physiotherapy machine, on top of the funds expected to be raised during the tournament.
His contribution is intended to ensure that the equipment is acquired without delay and made available to the public free of charge, allowing those in need of physiotherapy services to access treatment without financial barriers.
The initiative has been widely praised as a practical demonstration of servant leadership—where sports become a tool for saving lives, restoring dignity, and improving healthcare access. Once installed, the physiotherapy machine is expected to benefit countless people suffering from mobility challenges, accident-related injuries, and other physical conditions requiring rehabilitation.
The Uganda National Corporate Tournament Eastern Edition has therefore become more than a sporting event. It is a symbol of compassion, unity, and social responsibility, proving that when communities come together around a common cause, real change becomes possible.
Through Hajji Abdallah Diffe’s leadership and generosity, every kick on the football field is now a step toward healing, every goal is a victory for humanity, and every contribution is restoring hope to those longing for a pain-free life.
