KALAKI DISTRICT — The Office of the National Chairman (ONC) has intensified grassroots mobilization in Kalaki District following the commencement of nominations for Local Council One (LC1) and Women Council positions, with district leaders urging National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag bearers to seize the opportunity and secure their places on the ballot.
Leading the mobilization drive, ONC Kalaki District Coordinator Mr. Ebinu David witnessed the nomination of the NRM flag bearer for Anyalai A Village in Kamidakan Parish, Apapai Sub County, as the nationwide nomination exercise officially got underway.
The nominations, running from 15th to 19th July 2026, are a crucial milestone ahead of the Women Council elections on 23rd July and the LC1 elections on 28th July, which are expected to shape leadership at the grassroots level across the country.
Addressing enthusiastic NRM supporters shortly after the nomination, Mr. Ebinu urged all party flag bearers in Kalaki District to prioritize the exercise and avoid last-minute inconveniences that could jeopardize their participation.
“I have come to witness and encourage our NRM candidates. Let us get nominated early to avoid missing out or facing disqualification. Every position matters, and we must work together to secure victory for the yellow team,” he said.
Mr. Ebinu emphasized that LC1 and Women Council leaders remain the first point of contact between government and citizens, making them instrumental in advancing service delivery, community mobilization, and the successful implementation of government wealth-creation initiatives.
He noted that programs such as the Parish Development Model (PDM), Emyooga, and other socio-economic interventions championed by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni rely heavily on effective grassroots leadership to reach intended beneficiaries and transform livelihoods.
The ONC coordinator further called upon residents of Kalaki to participate actively in the electoral process and support leaders who are committed to promoting peace, unity, accountability, and sustainable development.
As nominations continue, the message from Kalaki is clear: strong grassroots leadership is the foundation upon which national development is built, and every village-level election presents an opportunity to advance the government’s vision of prosperity, empowerment, and inclusive growth for all Ugandans.
“The road to national transformation begins at the village level.”
