MBALE CITY — The Mbale City Woman Member of Parliament and State Minister for Public Service, Hon. Lydia Wanyoto Mutende, has called on residents to make full use of her area office in Maluku as a gateway to information, employment opportunities, and socio-economic empowerment.
Wanyoto made the appeal while attending a burial ceremony in Bukosa Village, Bungokho-Mutoto, Industrial Division, where she emphasized the importance of access to information in improving people’s livelihoods and unlocking opportunities, especially for the youth.
Addressing mourners and local leaders, the minister encouraged young people to regularly visit her constituency office to learn about available jobs, training programs, scholarships, and other development opportunities that can help transform their lives.
She noted that many opportunities often go unnoticed because potential beneficiaries lack access to timely information or guidance on how to apply for them.
“My office is open to all residents. We have provided information materials and internet access to help young people and other community members search for employment, acquire skills, and connect with opportunities that can improve their future,” Wanyoto said.
The legislator explained that the office was established not only as a center for constituency affairs but also as a resource hub where residents can obtain guidance, access information, and receive support in navigating various government and private-sector opportunities.
She urged residents to embrace the facility and make it part of their efforts to improve their economic well-being, stressing that information remains one of the most powerful tools for personal and community development.
Wanyoto further challenged young people to adopt a proactive mindset, noting that success often comes to those who actively seek opportunities rather than waiting for them to arrive.
“Opportunities do not always come knocking on our doors. We must make deliberate efforts to look for them, prepare ourselves, and position ourselves to benefit when they arise,” she said.
