As the country heads into the highly anticipated women Council and Local Council One (LC1) elections, the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) has intensified its grassroots mobilization efforts, dispatching a formidable team of 2,200 mobilisers across different parts of the country to rally support for National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidates.
The mobilization force, flagged off under the leadership of ONC Manager Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, popularly known as Chief Muzzukulu, comprises ONC coordinators, pressure groups, and members of the informal sector. Their mission is to strengthen NRM structures at the village level and safeguard the party’s anticipated victory in the LC1 Council elections.
Addressing the mobilisers, Hajjat Namyalo urged them to replicate the same commitment, determination, and energy they demonstrated during President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s campaigns. She emphasized that grassroots leadership remains the foundation of effective governance and sustainable development, making the upcoming elections crucial for consolidating the NRM’s support base.
She called upon the teams to engage communities positively, promote unity, and ensure that NRM supporters turn up in large numbers to participate in both the Women Council and LC1 elections.
Hajjat Namyalo also expressed gratitude to President Museveni, who doubles as the NRM National Chairman, for facilitating the activity and continuously empowering the Bazzukulu through initiatives aimed at strengthening grassroots participation and political engagement.
The mobilisers, in turn, thanked Hajjat Namyalo for her unwavering support and facilitation, describing her as a dedicated leader who has consistently championed the welfare and empowerment of ordinary Ugandans. They pledged to work tirelessly in their respective areas and deliver decisive victories for the NRM in the upcoming elections.
