Kyambogo, Kampala — The Manager of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, has sent a strong message of resilience, commitment and unwavering loyalty to the National Resistance Movement (NRM), declaring that financial constraints will not derail the party’s grassroots mobilisation efforts ahead of the forthcoming LC1 elections.
Speaking during the official flag-off of ONC coordinators at the ONC headquarters in Kyambogo, Hajjat Namyalo challenged coordinators across the country to intensify mobilisation, strengthen ideological orientation and ensure the NRM remains firmly rooted among the people at the village level.
In a candid address, Namyalo revealed that although the NRM Secretariat received Shs50 billion to facilitate party activities, the Office of the National Chairman was not included in the allocation despite prior guidance from President Yoweri Museveni that the office should be supported. She explained that after engaging the President on the matter, he informed her that the funds had already been committed but nevertheless provided additional support to enable ONC continue executing its mandate.
Namyalo praised President Museveni for his leadership and dedication to the movement, describing him as a father figure who remains committed to supporting all cadres and organs of the NRM without discrimination.
“President Museveni has always demonstrated that he listens to his people. Even when resources are limited, he looks for solutions. His commitment to the movement and the people of Uganda remains unwavering,” Namyalo said.
Despite the budgetary challenges, Namyalo reaffirmed ONC’s commitment to mobilising support for the NRM and monitoring the implementation of government programmes to ensure that they positively impact ordinary citizens. She stressed that the strength of a political movement is not measured by the amount of money available but by the dedication, discipline and conviction of its members.
She urged coordinators to focus on promoting the ideology and achievements of the NRM rather than engaging in internal rivalries, emphasizing that the office was established to strengthen the movement and ensure that government interventions reach the intended beneficiaries.
According to Namyalo, ONC remains a critical bridge between the people and the National Chairman, with responsibilities ranging from monitoring elections within party structures to assessing the performance of government programmes and submitting reports for action.
As the country prepares for the LC1 elections, she called upon coordinators to work tirelessly to secure victory for NRM candidates, noting that strong village leadership forms the foundation upon which the party’s broader success is built.
She further underscored the importance of accountability and vigilance in overseeing public programs, arguing that effective monitoring is necessary to protect government investments and guarantee value for citizens.
