As part of the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the Parish Development Model (PDM), the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) Mbale District Coordinator, Andrew Allan Wokalo, accompanied by the Regional Coordinator for Bugisu, Namasaba Jalia, conducted a field visit to assess the progress of Ms. Atyang Ann Prossy, a beneficiary of the Parish Development Model from Nalondo B Cell, Bumasikye Ward, Mbale Town Council, Mbale District.
Atyang Ann Prossy, aged 30, received UGX 1,000,000 through her Parish Development Model SACCO under the Government of Uganda’s strategic wealth-creation programme aimed at accelerating the country’s socio-economic transformation and moving households from subsistence production into the money economy.

Before benefiting from PDM, Atyang operated a small-scale poultry project with limited production and income-generating capacity. Following the receipt of the PDM funds, she strategically invested in expanding her poultry enterprise, increasing her stock to over 1,000 birds comprising broilers, kroilers, and local chickens.

The investment has yielded remarkable results. The growth of the poultry enterprise has significantly increased household income, strengthened food security, and created a sustainable source of livelihood. The success of the poultry project further enabled her to diversify into piggery farming, where she acquired more than five pigs and established appropriate housing structures to support the enterprise.
Today, Atyang’s farm has evolved into a thriving agribusiness venture, demonstrating the effectiveness of the Parish Development Model when beneficiaries utilize government funds responsibly and productively. Her enterprise continues to expand, creating wealth and improving the welfare of her household.
The monitoring team commended Atyang for her exemplary utilization of PDM funds and noted that her success story serves as clear evidence that the Parish Development Model is achieving its intended objective of empowering citizens, increasing productivity, enhancing household incomes, and driving sustainable socio-economic transformation.
