Mbale City awoke to a powerful display of unity, faith, and political strength as Lydia Wanyoto-Mutende hosted a successful Easter breakfast prayer meeting in Maluku, bringing together a large section of the Christian community to mark the end of Lent.

The gathering quickly transformed into a symbol of rising influence, as Hon. Wanyoto called for continued prayers ahead of her swearing-in at the Parliament of Uganda on May 15th. With calm confidence, she reminded believers that her leadership journey is guided by faith, strengthened by the people, and destined for impact.

In the spirit of Easter, she extended generosity to her supporters by providing packages, reinforcing her deep connection with the grassroots. She credited her election victory to the unwavering prayers of the Mbale Christian community—making it clear that her mandate is both spiritually anchored and democratically earned.

Hon. Wanyoto paid special tribute to John Wilson Nandaah, acknowledging his consistent prayers and spiritual guidance, which she said played a vital role in her success.

The event drew the presence of key leaders, including Deputy RCC Hamza Banja, Were Yahaya, and Mayor-Elect Joyce Matuka-Kidulu, all of whom praised her for her inclusive leadership and strong bond with the people.
