The Head of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) Manager Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye has today addressed a press conference at the ONC Headquarters in Kyambogo, Kampala, where she called upon all Ugandans to actively participate in the forthcoming LC1 elections scheduled for 28th July.
Speaking passionately about the importance of grassroots leadership, Hajjat Namyalo emphasized that LC1 leaders are the first point of contact between citizens and government services, making the election a critical opportunity for communities to choose leaders who genuinely understand and serve their people.
She urged voters to rise above personal interests and elect individuals with proven capacity, integrity, and empathy, noting that effective local leadership plays a vital role in promoting development, resolving community challenges, and strengthening citizen participation in governance.
“Ugandans know the leaders who have stood with them during difficult times and worked tirelessly for their communities. On 28th July, step out and entrust leadership to those who serve you best. Vote for capacity. Vote for empathy. Vote for leaders who put people first,” she stated.
She further encouraged the youth, women, and all eligible voters to embrace their civic responsibility by participating peacefully and responsibly in the electoral process. She noted that strong communities are built through informed choices and active citizen engagement.
As the country prepares for the LC1 elections, Hajjat Namyalo reminded us that every vote matters and that the future of local communities depends on leaders who combine competence with compassion.
