The Bugisu Cultural Institution has called upon members of the public, business operators, exhibitors, and organizations intending to participate in the forthcoming Imbalu cultural activities to follow the official procedures for acquiring space and stalls at the Mutoto Cultural Site.
According to the Institution’s Spokesperson, Mr. Steven Masiga, all individuals interested in securing space for business, exhibitions, or other Imbalu-related activities should directly contact the Office of the Imbalu Board Chairman, Mr. Emmanuel Watundu, which is currently operating from the Mutoto Sub-county Offices located adjacent to the Mutoto Cultural Site.
Mr. Masiga emphasized that the Office of the Imbalu Board Chairman is the only authorized office mandated to handle the allocation of stalls and space at Mutoto. He warned the public against dealing with unauthorized individuals or groups that may be soliciting money under the guise of allocating space for the cultural festivities.
“We urge all prospective exhibitors and traders to obtain their space through the official office headed by Mr. Emmanuel Watundu. Any parallel groups or individuals collecting money for stall allocation are acting illegally and should be disregarded immediately,” he said.
The spokesperson further called upon members of the public to report any suspected fraudsters to the nearest police station. To strengthen security and ensure transparency in the allocation process, an Adhoc Police Post has been established at Mutoto to respond swiftly to complaints and concerns.
The Bugisu Cultural Institution remains committed to ensuring an organized, transparent, and fair allocation process as preparations for the Imbalu cultural celebrations gain momentum.
Members of the public are therefore advised to remain vigilant, deal only with authorized offices, and report any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities.
