Namisindwa District Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Peace Khalayi, has rallied women across the district to turn up in large numbers today and participate in the Village Women Council elections, urging them to choose leaders committed to service, development, and the wellbeing of their communities.
With the long-awaited polling day here, Hon. Khalayi encouraged women to exercise their democratic right and support NRM candidates, saying experienced and committed grassroots leaders are essential in ensuring government programmes benefit the people.
She emphasized that Village Women Councils are a powerful platform for women’s empowerment, community mobilisation, and promoting accountability from the village level.
“Today is the day for every woman to stand up and make her voice count. Let us come out in big numbers and vote for leaders who will work with the people and support better service delivery,” Hon. Khalayi said.
The legislator called for a peaceful and successful election exercise, noting that the strength of any community begins with choosing responsible leaders who understand the needs of the people.
As Namisindwa women head to the polling centres, Hon. Khalayi’s message remains firm: a better future starts with a strong choice today.
