What was once just a dream has now become a shining example of how President Yoweri Museveni’s Parish Development Model (PDM) is transforming lives at the grassroots level across Uganda.
In Sironko District, one hardworking woman received UGX 1 million through the government’s PDM initiative and chose to invest it in poultry farming — a decision that has completely changed her future.
Starting with a small poultry project, she worked tirelessly and gradually expanded her business. Today, she proudly owns her own workplace where she operates her poultry business and earns nearly UGX 300,000 every month, enabling her to support her family and improve her standard of living.
The beneficiary says before receiving the PDM funds, life was difficult and opportunities were limited. But through the support of the NRM government, she gained not only capital but also a financial vision that opened her mind to self-reliance and wealth creation.
She thanked President Museveni for introducing an initiative that empowers ordinary Ugandans to fight poverty through practical income-generating activities instead of dependency.
Her story is now inspiring many people in Sironko to use PDM funds productively and responsibly. Community members say such success proves that the program is not just about distributing money, but about creating sustainable businesses, restoring hope and building stronger households.
As more beneficiaries continue to succeed, the impact of PDM is becoming visible across villages and trading centers, strengthening confidence in President Museveni’s long-standing vision of economic empowerment from the grassroots.
From one million shillings to business ownership and stable income, the message from Sironko is powerful: PDM is changing lives, creating jobs and turning ordinary citizens into successful entrepreneurs.
