BUGISU MP-ELECT SET TO TAKE AN OATH, PARLIAMENT UNVEILS DATES

A wave of pride and anticipation is sweeping across Mbale City, Mbale District, Namisindwa District, Manafwa District, Bududa District, Sironko District, and Bulambuli District as Bugisu’s elected leaders prepare to take their oath in the 12th Parliament of Uganda.

With 13th–15th May set for the historic swearing-in, the region stands at the threshold of a new political era. Lydia Wanyoto Mutende, Woman MP-elect for Mbale City, will take her oath on Friday, 15th May (2:00–6:30 PM) as number 523, while Khalayi Peace is slated for 14th May, appearing as number 205.

In a powerful tradition, each MP-elect will walk the parliamentary aisle escorted by three counterparts—symbolizing a solemn pledge to serve with integrity, loyalty, and purpose.

From the highlands of Bududa to the plains of Bulambuli, Bugisu rises united—sending forward a new generation of leaders entrusted with hope, transformation, and the voice of the people.

Bugisu is not just going to Parliament—Bugisu is rising to shape the future of Uganda.
