A Wave of Change in Bukiise, Sironko: Hon. Asha Nabulo Delivers Lifeline Water Projects

Thousands of residents in Nalugugu Parish, Bukiise Sub-county, Sironko District, have a renewed reason to smile following the launch of safe water projects spearheaded by Sironko District Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Asha Mafabi Nabulo, in partnership with the Nile Humanitarian Development Agency.

The initiative, which includes the construction of new boreholes, is a significant step toward addressing the persistent challenge of water scarcity in Bukiise Sub-county, one of the most populated areas in Sironko District. For years, many families have struggled to access clean and safe water, often traveling long distances and competing for limited water sources.

Representing Hon. Asha Nabulo at the launch ceremony, I conveyed her commitment to improving the welfare of the people through practical and sustainable development projects that directly impact lives. The newly commissioned boreholes are expected to reduce pressure on existing water sources, improve sanitation, prevent waterborne diseases, and save valuable time for women and children who bear the greatest burden of searching for water.

Speaking to residents, leaders emphasized that access to safe water is not merely a development goal but a foundation for healthy families, quality education, and economic progress. The project reflects the power of visionary leadership and strategic partnerships in delivering meaningful change to communities.

The people of Nalugugu welcomed the intervention with gratitude, describing it as a life-changing investment that will restore dignity, improve public health, and strengthen livelihoods.
