PDM turns Mbale Beneficiary into a Thriving Entrepreneur as President Museveni’s Wealth Creation Agenda Takes Root

The Office of the National Chairman (ONC), through Mbale District Coordinator Andrew Allan Wokalo and Regional Coordinator Namasaba Jalia, conducted a monitoring and evaluation visit to assess the impact of the Parish Development Model (PDM) on household livelihoods in Mbale District.

During the visit, the team met Ms. Muyama Dorothy, a 53-year-old beneficiary from Mabinda Cell, Bunambutye Ward, Mbale Town Council, whose success story reflects the practical realization of H.E’s vision of wealth creation and socio-economic transformation.

Ms. Dorothy received UGX 1 million through her Parish Development Model SACCO. Recognizing the opportunity presented by the government, she invested the funds in rice farming. Through hard work, discipline, and proper utilization of the PDM resources, she achieved impressive harvests and increased her household income.

She reinvested her earnings into livestock farming, thereby diversifying her income sources and strengthening the resilience of her household economy. Today, her enterprise has expanded considerably, resulting in improved food security, increased household earnings, and a more stable and sustainable livelihood.

Ms. Dorothy has successfully transitioned from small-scale subsistence activities to a growing commercial enterprise, directly contributing to local economic development.

This success story serves as concrete evidence that the Parish Development Model is delivering on its core objective of moving Ugandans from subsistence to the money economy. It further validates H.E’s long-standing message that wealth creation begins with empowering citizens at the grassroots with affordable capital and practical opportunities.
