Hon. Khalayi Peace today continued her Woman Member of Parliament campaign trail in Bukiabi Sub-county, rolling out her parish-to-parish vote hunt ahead of the forthcoming General Elections.

The campaign kickoff was marked by a warm and emotional reception, as residents welcomed her as a true home child and one of their own. Relatives, elders, women, and youth turned out in large numbers, showering her with love and reaffirming their confidence in her leadership.

Through their local leaders, the people of Bukiabi openly presented their pressing challenges, including electricity scarcity, poor road networks, inadequate health facilities, and limited access to essential services. They noted that these long-standing issues require a leader who understands the area firsthand.

Residents unanimously pledged to vote for Hon. Khalayi Peace, citing that as a daughter of the soil, she clearly understands their problems and is best placed to represent them effectively in Parliament.

The rally at Musola was particularly significant, as Mr. Hassan, a known diehard supporter of her opponent, publicly crossed to Hon. Khalayi Peace’s camp. He cited irregularities and dissatisfaction within other camps, a move that inspired several others to follow suit.

Across Bukokho, Mayanza, Bukiabi, and surrounding areas, residents pledged overwhelming support, promising up to 90% of the vote in her favor.

In her address, Hon. Khalayi Peace thanked the people for the trust they demonstrated by voting her in the party primaries. She urged them not to grow weary, emphasizing that the real fruits of their support will be enjoyed once she is sent to Parliament.

She also cautioned residents against propaganda and personal attacks from opponents, particularly attempts to tarnish her name over issues of marriage and age, urging voters to focus on leadership, vision, and service delivery.

She concluded by calling on voters to turn up in large numbers on 15th January and cast their votes, describing herself as “the new energy for real change in Namisindwa.”
