Mbale — The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Mbale District, Mr. Bayole Stanley, has issued a strong warning to local government officials against poor work ethics, corruption, and absenteeism, especially in the implementation of the Parish Development Model (PDM).

Speaking during a district planning and review meeting held at Mbale Secondary School, the RDC reminded both political and technical leaders that their appointments are meant to serve the people with honesty and commitment.

The meeting brought together key district officials including the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), District Vice Chairperson Madam Katami Bess, Parish Chiefs, Sub-county Chiefs, Community Development Officers (CDOs), and other technical officers.

In a surprise roll call conducted during the meeting, only 7 out of 17 Sub-county Chiefs were present, prompting the RDC to strongly condemn irregular attendance at work. He warned that negligence and “ghost leadership” would no longer be tolerated, emphasizing that such behavior undermines service delivery to the wananchi.

The RDC also cautioned technical officers handling the Parish Development Model (PDM) funds to uphold integrity and avoid corruption, stressing that the program is meant to lift citizens out of poverty.

To strengthen field operations, Mr. Bayole officially handed over motorcycles to extension workers, a move expected to improve mobility and enable officers to reach farmers and PDM beneficiaries more effectively.
The meeting ended on a positive note, with the RDC commending the Chief Administrative Officer for his dedication and commitment to duty, urging other officials to emulate the same spirit of service to the people.
