The Office of the National Chairman (ONC) officially launched the ONC Digital Vote Protection & Monitoring System, a cutting-edge technological innovation designed to bolster the security, credibility, and integrity of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s votes and the wider NRM support base as the nation approaches the 2026 General Elections.

Unveiled to ONC coordinators and vote-protection leaders, the digital system marks a historic shift in how election-day operations are coordinated. The platform provides real-time data transmission from polling stations, enabling rapid incident reporting, instant escalation of irregularities, and seamless coordination across the vast ONC national structure.
The innovation fully integrates the extensive network of vote protection teams recruited last year. These teams—now digitally profiled, trained, and equipped—will form the backbone of ONC’s election-day vigilance and situational monitoring efforts. Through the new system, each protector can submit updates instantly, ensuring that no polling station is left unmonitored and no incident goes unaddressed.
Senior security and administrative leaders who witnessed the unveiling strongly commended the initiative. Nakawa DISO, Lt. Moses Tashobya, praised the platform for elevating operational discipline and increasing the ability to identify and neutralize threats to electoral integrity in real time. Senior Presidential Advisor/Special Duties, David Kenneth Mafabi, applauded the ONC team for embracing technology and urged all coordinators to uphold vigilance, precision, and accountability as patriotic duties in safeguarding every NRM vote.

The system was developed by the ONC Digital Media Team in partnership with the State House ICT Department, under the leadership and guidance of Hajjat Hamidah Kibirige, whose technical stewardship ensured that the platform meets national cyber-security standards while remaining user-friendly for field coordinators.

Speaking during the launch, ONC leadership emphasized that the innovation represents more than a technological upgrade—it is a reaffirmation of the movement’s commitment to #ProtectingTheGains and guaranteeing a secure, organized, and coordinated electoral process in 2026. The Digital Vote Protection & Monitoring System is expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening confidence in the upcoming elections while ensuring that the will of the people is accurately reflected at every polling station.
With this milestone, the ONC continues to demonstrate its readiness, modern capacity, and unwavering dedication to safeguarding the democratic mandate of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the NRM.
